how long cam trichomoniasis live on a sex toy
As most of us know, Penis Rings Trichomoniasis can live in the body for up to 6 months and sometimes even longer depending on the conditions in the body. But what many people don’t know is that the sexually transmitted infection can live on sex toys for a period of time too. I found this out through a personal experience which I’d like to share with you.
When I first got into a serious relationship, my partner and I decided to start exploring our sexual desires and interests by purchasing sex toys. We made sure to clean these toys after every use and followed all the instructions outlined on the packaging. However, neither one of us thought about the potential danger of an infection like Trichomoniasis living on the sex toys.
A few months into the relationship, I began to experience symptoms which I thought might be a sexually transmitted infection. I decided to get tested and sadly, the test came back positive. When I asked my partner to get tested too, his results came back negative even though we both had used the same sex toys. I couldn’t believe it! How could I have been the only one to test positive?
After doing some research, I realised that it was possible for Trichomoniasis to live on a sex toy because most of them can’t be disinfected and can be breeding grounds for bacteria. Although the instructions for cleaning the toys were very clear, it wasn’t enough to protect us from the infection.
It was then that I learned that Trichomoniasis can live on a sex toy for up to 24 hours. If the toy is left un-sanitised too long and the bacteria isn’t washed off properly, it can linger on the toy and be transmitted to another person. This means that if we had been cleaning the toys more thoroughly and swapping out the toys for new ones more often, it would have been less likely for me to catch the infection in the first place.
Now that I’m aware of this risk, I’m sure to take extra precautions when it comes to sex toy safety. For one, I make sure to Sterilise all sex toys and never use one for more than 24 hours. I also always use a new condom when using a sex toy to reduce the risk of passing infection. This experience made me realise that in our digital age, even the most convenient and fun gadgets can come with unexpected consequences.
Overall, it’s important to keep in mind that Trichomoniasis can survive on sex toys for up to 24 hours. The biggest way to protect yourself is to make sure to always clean and sanitise your sex toys and never use the same one for more than 24 hours. But there are other precautions you can take such as using condoms with sex toys and never sharing them between partners.
Now that I have better knowledge about this, I’m much more conscious about keeping myself and my partner safe. I’m also sure to check up on them regularly to make sure they’re not experiencing any of the Trichomoniasis symptoms.
Have you ever had a similar experience with Trichomoniasis or know someone who has?
